Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the overall maintenance, repair, and upkeep of all equipment, systems, and facilities across our 10 (and growing) F&B outlets. This role ensures smooth operations, minimizes downtime, and maintains a safe and functional environment for employees and customers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Equipment and System Maintenance
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs on kitchen and F&B equipment (ovens, grills, fryers, refrigerators, freezers, ice machines, coffee machines, blenders, dishwashers).
- Troubleshoot and repair POS systems, digital menu boards, sound systems, and other in-store technology.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues before disruptions.
2. Facilities Maintenance
- Handle general building maintenance (electrical, plumbing, HVAC checks and minor repairs).
- Repair doors, locks, furniture, and fixtures.
- Ensure safety and health standards by maintaining kitchen hoods, grease traps, and drainage systems.
- Manage external contractors for major repairs.
3. Planning and Documentation
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules.
- Maintain accurate records of activities, parts, and costs.
- Keep organized inventory of spare parts and supplies.
- Provide detailed reports to management.
4. Problem-Solving and Emergency Response
- Be available for emergency calls affecting business operations.
- Quickly diagnose and resolve issues to minimize downtime.
- Work independently across multiple locations.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician (F&B, hospitality, or retail preferred).
- Strong technical skills in electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and HVAC systems.
- Knowledge of kitchen/restaurant equipment maintenance and repair.
- Familiarity with POS systems is a plus.
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and proactive attitude.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Good communication skills with outlet managers and staff.
- Valid driver’s license, willingness to travel to 10+ outlets.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various conditions.
